For added flexibility in your learning journey, CBTC for Training offers select courses in various delivery methods.

Classroom Based
All training sessions occur in a classroom setting with a group of students and a CBTC Trainer or Assessor. This face-to-face delivery method necessitates regular attendance to participate in coursework. While classroom-based training primarily takes place in a classroom, it may also involve practical field trips and/or work placements.

Mixed-Mode Training
Training is conducted through a combination of face-to-face and blended learning, which includes both online and in-person components. If you are enrolled in mixed mode, you will have access to a CBTC Trainer or Assessor to support you with coursework. While mixed-mode training primarily occurs outside the classroom, it may involve some classroom-based learning or face-to-face practical exercises.

Work-Based Training
Training is conducted either through a work training program or an Apprenticeship or Traineeship. Students enrolled in a work training program may need to attend classroom-based sessions or engage in mixed-mode training, depending on their employer’s requirements. Apprenticeship or Traineeship participants will fulfill their coursework obligations under a national training contract. During their Apprenticeship or Traineeship, students will be allocated time away from their regular work responsibilities to attend training sessions, undergo assessments, and meet with their CBTC Trainer or Assessor.
How Government Subsidy Works
In Australia, government-funded vocational education and training (VET) programs are financed by both the Commonwealth and State/Territory Governments. The delivery of VET services is overseen by State and Territory Governments, which allocate funding for VET through yearly budget cycles.
CBTC for Training has proactively engaged in multiple State and Commonwealth government-subsidized initiatives:
- New South Wales: Smart and Skilled
- Australian Capital Territory: User Choice
Fees and Concessions

In compliance with relevant Commonwealth and State laws, CBTC for Training is authorized to levy fees for items or services provided to students enrolled in a course of study. The fee amount may differ based on factors such as the specific course, available funding, delivery mode, and eligibility for concessions. Children and Rebates
At CBTC for Training, we understand that many of our students are also parents, and we recognize the challenges of balancing study with family responsibilities. To support students in managing their family and study commitments, CBTC can offer information on local childcare options within the community. Additionally, it is essential to determine if you qualify for the Federal Government Child Care Subsidy. For further details regarding the Child Care Subsidy, please visit the Department of Human Services website.
Skills Recognition
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Credit Transfer is an evaluation process tailored to recognize and assess a student’s prior knowledge and skills. This encompasses evaluating both past and present education and training, as well as work and life experience.
How to Apply for an RPL?
Upon course enrollment, students are prompted to indicate their interest in applying for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) or Credit Transfer on the Application/Enrolment Form.
